The Four Month Hangover

Before...?

After...?

Home from the hospital after 5 days of chemo for Mantle Cell Lymphoma (a Non-Hodkins type).  Not so bad if you like this sort of thing...
Think of a 5 day bender, followed by a massive hangover to match.  Dazzit.  I don't feel too awful, just a bit pooped, a bit foggy, and now, due to low blood counts, we can't go out for cappuccini.  Not for a few days anyway.  Poop.

We love all of you and want to stay in touch...so this seems like the best way to reach everyone in one swell foop (without lining the pockets of ATT).  Thanks for all the love, the calls, the cards, the gardening help, the visits...and just having you in our world.   xoxoxoxoxoxo

  3. Great idea!! I want to know how you are both managing through this adventure and even tho I only have dial up right now the blog seems to work just fine..and not too slow!!
Since you are not getting out much I will try to entertain you with the rainforest adventures. We recently moved to Santiago de Puriscal and that means new bugs, new birds, new creatures and lots of new things to learn about.
It rains about 4 feet in May here...yep..feet!! The mornings are sunny and beautiful and the rains come in the afternoon...about nap time!!

We are close to the equator so our days are always about the same length. Daylight starts about 5am and sun down is about 5:30.

In the morning the toucans cause a big rucus. They are actually nasty little fellers and eat eggs and baby birds. All the other birds scream and the toucans make a sound like running a thumb down a comb...quite a symphony!! The toucans look just like on the Fruit Loops boxes.

I will keep you up on the jungle news..you keep me up on the chemo adventures!! love, diana
